A walk through the Himalayas. Annapurnas Sanctuary Trek

One thing I wanted to do when I landed in Nepal was trekking the Annapurnas and I can cross it off the list now. I can assure you it has been one of the best experiences of my life.

My journey began in Phedi. This time I went alone, since my friend Sara decided to do another trekking. To go on my own has been vital for my experience. I have met many people and I have been fortunate to be hosted by Nepali families and see how they live their daily lives.

The first few days are hard, because you go from 1000 meters to 2000 in a very small space of time.
It is wonderful to see all the towns and people working in the field. The inhabitants of this region of the Himalayas are called Gurung.

One thing that has impacted me is the strength of the human being. People carrying kilos and kilos l for miles and they are still able to smile at you and greet you with a warm Namaste.

To sleep I stayed in tea houses, which offers rooms at an affordable price.
Views in the morning are priceless if the weather is good.

I was really lucky, because the sky was completely clear when I reached the highest peak (Annapurna Base Camp) and I could see the mountains in all their splendor.

On the way back , I slept in the house of a family that gave me shelter, since it started to rain and I still had several miles to get to the next town.

It is amazing to see how they live. They were very friendly and treated me wonderfully.

They prepared hot water in a bucket for me to have a shower, make my bed and the mother made me an exquisite dinner.

I took several pictures and I promised I will print them and send to the family when I am in Spain.

As you see this experience really worth and I recommend it to everyone.

I continue crossing off things from my list!
